National, state and county primaries are held in August of even-numbered years. City Council and Mayoral elections in are held in November of even-numbered years.

The 2014 elections will include, a U.S. Senate seat, all U.S. House of Representative seats, Governor, Lt. Governor, State Auditor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, all State Representative seats, county, judicial and local offices.

The 2014 local races will include, 2 City Council seats. Voters may vote for up to 2 candidates on the November ballot. City Council elections are nonpartisan and candidates run for their seats at large. Terms for these Council positions are four years beginning in January of 2015 and ending January 4, 2019.

Absentee Voting Opens for Primary Election: June 27
Absentee Voting Closes for Primary Election: August 11
Primary Election: August 12, 2014

Filing Period for Office (City Council):  July 29 to August 12

Absentee Voting Opens for General Election: September 19
Absentee Voting Closes for General Election: November 3
General Election: November 4, 2014

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
