Streets and Trails

The Public Works department is dedicated to maintaining the street and trail networks of Lake Elmo. They are responsible for the maintenance, repair and plowing of over 70 miles of roads. Major maintenance activities include snowplowing, deicing, crack sealing, seal coating, sweeping and pothole repairs. Public Works staff is also responsible for maintaining the parks, and sidewalks, and publically owned trails.

Roads Maintained by Others

Many of the roadways in Lake Elmo are owned and maintained by Washington County and the State of Minnesota. Please consult the Roadway Jurisdictional Map to determine the ownership and operation of the roadway you are inquiring about and contact the proper entity.
