National, State and County primaries are held in August of even-numbered years. City Council and Mayoral elections are held in November of even-numbered years.


City Council elections are nonpartisan and candidates run for their seats at large. Terms for Council positions are for four years.

Voting in Lake Elmo on election day is located at:
P.1,  3880 Laverne Ave N - City Center from 7am to 8pm
P.2,  3800 Laverne Ave N - old City Hall Building from 7am to 8pm.
