Mayor Mike Pearson issued a proclamation on May 26, 2020 to allow regulatory flexibility so that restaurants and bars may begin to serve food and alcohol in outdoor areas on June 1st. Restaurants and bars may sell and serve food in outdoor areas provided that the restaurant or bar has submitted a site plan that is reviewed and approved by city staff. Restaurants and bars may sell and serve alcoholic beverages allowed by their liquor licenses in the outdoor areas depicted on the site plan. In order to serve alcoholic beverages outdoors, restaurants and bars must provide the City with proof that their liquor liability insurance covers alcohol sales in city-approved outdoor areas. The proclamation can be read in full here.
